Everything You Need to Know About Security Screens in Brisbane
What is a security screen?
A security screen is a reinforced door or window screen designed to prevent forced entry into your home. Made from high tensile stainless steel mesh or aluminium and tested to Australian Standard AS 5039, they provide real protection without blocking airflow, natural light or your view.
How is a security screen different to other screens?
A fly screen keeps insects out but offers no real security — it can be cut or pushed through in seconds. A diamond grill is stronger than a fly screen but is not independently tested to AS 5039. A stainless steel security screen is the highest level of protection — tested for impact, jimmy and knife shear resistance and certified to Australian Standards. If security is the priority, there is no substitute.
Are your security screens tested to Australian Standards?
Yes. Every screen and door we install is tested and rated to AS 5039 — covering dynamic impact, jimmy resistance, knife shear and corrosion resistance. Don’t be fooled by cheap alternatives with no certification.
How much do security screens cost in Brisbane?
Pricing depends on screen type, size and quantity. Stainless steel is our premium option, with perforated aluminium and diamond grill available at a more affordable price point. We offer a free in-home measure and quote with no obligation — call Sid on 0422 151 252 to book.
Do you supply and install roller blinds, curtains and shutters?
Yes! We’re a one-stop shop for security and window coverings. We supply and install roller blinds, blockout and sheer curtains, S-fold curtains, plantation shutters and PVC shutters across Brisbane’s south-west — all in a single visit.
What is the best blind or curtain for a Queensland home?
For living areas we recommend sunscreen roller blinds — they reduce heat and UV while keeping your view. For bedrooms, blockout blinds or S-fold curtains are ideal. Plantation shutters are perfect for any room and handle Queensland’s humidity beautifully.
Do you do pet mesh and BAL rated fly screens?
Yes. We offer heavy duty pet mesh for homes with dogs and cats, and BAL rated fly screens for properties in bushfire attack level zones. Both are custom made to fit any door or window.
Do you service new builds and house and land packages?
Absolutely — it’s our specialty. We work with new builds and house and land packages across Ripley, South Ripley, Springfield, Greenbank, Jimboomba, Park Ridge, New Beith, Pallara, Heathwood and surrounding areas.
We can even quote directly off your plans before construction is complete, and measure up before you move in.
